Submission Process

Entries must be submitted via the official online form, which contains structured, category-specific questions aligned to the relevant assessment dimensions. Supporting documentation may be uploaded where appropriate.

Once submissions close, entries are screened for eligibility and completeness. Where a submission appears better suited to a different category, Regulation Asia may consult with the entrant regarding reassignment prior to judging.

Eligible submissions are then provided to the independent judging panel for assessment. Depending on the category and volume of entries, shortlisted organisations may be invited to clarify aspects of their submission or participate in a follow‑up discussion. Any such discussion is conducted to verify or clarify information already provided and does not replace the written submission as the primary basis of assessment.

Awards are granted on merit against defined standards. Not all categories are guaranteed to produce a recipient. Where submissions do not meet the required threshold, a category may not result in a winner. In certain cases, more than one organisation may be recognised where multiple entries meet the standard.

Methodology

Each category is assessed against clearly defined criteria. The submission form is structured so that each question maps directly to a dimension considered by the judges.

Across all categories, assessment typically considers:

  • Regional relevance within Asia-Pacific
  • Material developments and measurable outcomes within the past 12 months
  • The robustness, execution, and impact of the solution, initiative, or institution against the specific award criteria
  • Distinctiveness and suitability for the selected category
  • Where applicable, governance of AI and model-based systems in line with emerging supervisory expectations

Judges review submissions independently using pre‑defined criteria. Assessments are consolidated to determine outcomes. Where assessments are closely contested, further panel deliberation may take place before a final decision is reached.

The Regulation Asia awards team administers the process and coordinates the judging exercise, but does not determine outcomes independently of the panel. Judging is structurally separated from Regulation Asia’s editorial and reporting operations. Editorial coverage of award recipients is developed independently of the judging process.

All materials submitted are treated as confidential and used solely for the purposes of the awards assessment process. Information from submissions will not be published without the submitting organisation’s authorisation.

For nomination-based awards, including the Lifetime Achievement Award, entries are assessed on the basis of documented contribution, influence and legacy within the regulatory ecosystem.
